Mr. Root-beer was now at my drive-through window asking for my phone number. What is he thinking? Stranger-danger warning! The girl in me was, truthfully, very flattered, but I kindly said back to him, " No, thank you." Joshua had determination; he wasn't going to give up easily. He tried for several weeks. I finally asked for my mom's permission to give Joshua my phone number. Mama Susie said yes. I went to work the next day, and there was Mr. Root-beer in the drive-through asking me for my phone number once again. And, yes, I gave him my number.
That night, Joshua call me for the first time. We talked for a couple of hours. I thought to myself, Joshua has every quality that I prayed for and more. I'm to going to marry this guy someday. When our call was over, I, jumping up and down with excitement, came out of my room and said to my and brother Doug, "I'm going to marry this guy."
